On Thursday the 27th of February 2020 Ben, from Sustainable Coastlines gave a presentation called 'Love Your Coast'.
Ben taught us about the effects rubbish has on the marine environment and how humans can say no to plastic.
We learnt about the impacts litter and rubbish have on our marine animals such as turtles and fish. We were shocked at some of the statistics, did you know 1,00,000 seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals are killed each year because of rubbish?
We gained lots of knowledge about how we can prevent litter from reaching the coast in the first place. It was great to know that Casebrook already minimises waste by following programmes such as Paper for Trees.
Let’s work together to reduce, reuse and recycle.
