For inquiry this term at Casebrook we are doing science experiments to look at change.
We have been doing lots of fun experiments in class. Experiments like M&M swirls, crushing crystals, dissolving sugar, and M&M’s in different liquids.
For Milk Magic we poured milk into a bowl. Then we added drops of 4 different food colouring. Next we dipped a Q-tip into dish soap. Lastly we put the Q-tip into the milk. All the food colouring spread away from the Q-tip.
For dissolving sugar we got a cup and some water. We put some sugar into the water. We swirled it a few times and then waited. A lot of it dissolved. Second we poured some vegetable oil and did the same process. About half of the sugar dissolved.
Now we are all doing our own experiments with a buddy or by ourselves. We have to choose our own experiment, then we carry out the experiment and present it to our parents.
