Casebrook Cricket World Cup 2015

Last term Casebrook had a school-wide Cricket World Cup competition. The semi-finals were between Rooms 9 and 11 and Rooms 8 and 10. The final was held on the last week of the term between Rooms 9 and 10. Room 9 won the Cricket World Cup by 21 runs, scoring 77 runs to Room 10’s 56 runs.

Room 9’s campaign started off with a comfortable win against a determined Room 6 before playing Rooms 3 and 12 with wins in both matches. We then took on a tough Room 11 but came through with a good win after some very good fielding.

Finally we took on a confident Room 10 who greeted us with a haka. We batted first and put the highest total of runs for the tournament on the scoreboard.

We put heaps of pressure on in the field and got a few early wickets. Room 10 couldn’t get a single boundary in the whole match and we came away with a win.

Our campaign had some great moments with Hannah Romero, Ryan Hann and Caleb Cottom taking some amazing catches and Angus McIntyre and Sean McClymont demonstrating some brilliant batting.

What a tournament it was!!!

THANK YOU MR MEADS FOR THE ORGANISATION OF THIS TOURNAMENT.
