This week our regular timetable has started.

Year 8 camps are finished and with the exception of the Year 7 trek, activity days are completed and we will move into a more settled and regular timetable.

We would like to thank you very much for all your support with our camps and activity days.  We were generally very lucky to experience warm summer days but due to rain some camps had to be rescheduled.  For those of you who have given their time and energy to parent help, we look forward to you joining the staff for thank you drinks and nibbles on Wednesday 20th March at 6:00pm in the staffroom.  An invitation will be sent home with your child.

On Thursday 21st March the staff are required to attend a union meeting. To enable this to happen we ask that you make arrangements for your child to leave school at 1:00pm but if this is not possible we will organise supervision for the afternoon till 2.50pm. Please contact the office if you would like your child supervised on this day (our school phone number is 359 7428 or email office@casebrook.school.nz).  The union has called this meeting and staff have a responsibility to attend but we do understand this is difficult for some families.

The school has recently purchased caps to lessen sun exposure.  If you would like to purchase a Casebrook cap, they are available at the office for $15 each. We also have sunscreen available at the student desk in the office. We believe at this age students need to start making sensible choices for themselves but appreciate they do not always understand the long term consequences of exposure to our sun. Please encourage your child to make sensible choices.

The annual Year 7 trek on the Kennedy's bush track will take place on Thursday 19th March. Information will be sent home on Friday about this.

The swimming sports will be held next Wednesday for girls and next Thursday for boys at Wharenui Pool. More information on the swimming sports can be seen in this newsletter.

The year has had a great start. The Year 7 students are settling well and we appreciate the on going support we receive from our community. A young persons education is most successful when the school and home work together so please keep involved.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact the classroom teacher or the staff in the office.
