The Year 7 students have adjusted well to life at Casebrook and have enjoyed a full on first four weeks!
The year 7 students have had a busy start to their time at Casebrook and have settled in well at our school. This year we have eight Year 7 classes who are taught by Miss McKenzie (Room 1), Mr Watts (Room 2), Mr Straker (Room 5), Miss Kennedy (Room 6), Mr Foster (Room 9), Mr Leys/Mrs Dendle (Room 10), Miss Clark (Room 13) and Miss Sherwin (Room 14).
All classes have enjoyed their Adventure Days both surfing at Sumner and Horizon High Ropes. All students have shown a lot of REP especially perseverance on these trips. Our last Adventure Day is our Year 7 Trek at the Port Hills on Tuesday 19th March.
As part of our fortnightly Year 7 assemblies we hand out awards to students who have gone 'above and beyond' and also have a 'Chocolate for Champs' draw where students nominate other students who have gone out of their way to do something great. This is a great way to celebrate those students who are always going the extra mile.
Finally, over the last three weeks all Year 7 classes have been competing in our first Year 7 Sports competition - Capture the Flag. This has been running every Tuesday afternoon and up for grabs is the Golden Goose Trophy. We look forward to seeing which class will get their hands on the cup for the first time.
As always if you have any questions or queries please don't hesitate to get in contact with your child's classroom teacher.
