Lily Bainbridge competed in the Queen’s Birthday Weekend gymnastic competition representing the Christchurch School of Gymnastics. Lily gained first place overall in the beam, bars, floor and vault.
Lily trains for five hours a day and her favourite part of gymnastics is the beam. Lily is training for her up and coming trial to get into a team that represents New Zealand. If Lily makes the team she will be travelling to Australia.
Lily is inspired by her mum because when her mum was younger she also did gymnastics. Lily’s main advice for someone who needs motivation is, “When things get rough just keep persevering”.
We wish Lily all the best with her trial. The future looks bright for this gymnastics star!
