On May 28th 2018 two Casebrook students, Brie Benns and Hailee Max went to an ANZ Premiership netball match. They won the opportunity to meet the team captains and lead the teams out onto centre court at the start of the match, through the ANZ Future Captains competition on Facebook.
The girls have been playing since Year 4 and they play as GA, WA, GD, and GK. The girls support the Tactix but they didn’t mind who won the match. When they were on the court with the team captains they felt nervous, excited and starstruck.
When we interviewed them they said, “Netball is a great way to keep happy”, which shows that they are keen supporters. Brie’s favourite player is Temalisi Fakahokotau and Haylee’s favourite player is Erikana Pedersen. The girls quotes that they follow are “Nothing and none is perfect” and “To get anywhere in life you have to be perfect.”
I wonder if the girls themselves will become netball stars in the future? What is their destiny…
