We would love you to join us for the third planting of the year on Sunday 30 July at 50 Atlantis St, in the Red Zone from 10 am to 12pm.
We at Casebrook are part of Eco Action and together we are going to plant 5000 native trees and plants that we have grown next Sunday.
Planting days have a great atmosphere with heaps of fellow student and parent enthusiasts. Please bring some drinking water, solid footwear and your favourite spade if you have one. There will be 450 spades on site, so everyone can help. The more the merrier.
Help our community help itself by developing this community asset that will last for generations to come. The grown forest will provide habitat and food for native birds and lizards as well as sequester carbon to help with global climate change. It's also quite fun to be outside and off devices to plant a few plants.
We hope to see you there. There is parking on site.
This is the third of four plantings that will see 20,000 locally sourced, student grown, native plants and trees in the ground at 50 Atlantis St.
The 21 schools growing plants currently are. Casebrook Intermediate, Tuahiwi Kura, St Michaels, Rawhiti Primary, SBHS, AGHS, STAC, Rangi Ruru, ChCh South Int, Heaton Int, CGHS, CBHS, Burnside Primary, St Margaret's, Cathedral Grammar, St Patricks Primary, Christ's College, Medbury, Riccarton High, St Peters Primary and STAC Prep. SVA. Charles Upham, Ryman Rangiora and Richmond Community Gardens have also joined us
The final date for this year is Sunday the 3 Sept so pencil it in your diaries.
