Casebrook is the home of Intermediate School Football in the Northwest of Ōtautahi/Christchurch! We have five teams - four boys' teams & one girls' team. In each newsletter we will share how things have gone for our teams. A big shout out to our parent coaches, Ben Careford (Rovers) and Lou Fyfe (United) and our staff coaches Charlotte Rennie, Nick Leith and Mackenzie Goble.

24th May - The Casebrook Rovers played Christchurch South in our first game together as a team. Our first half was a bit scratchy but we picked up our game in the second half. The final score was 0-7 to Christchurch South. One player that played well in a different position was Daniel Wordsworth - he usually plays right wing but got put in right back and played beautifly, showing great pace and skill so he got player of the day for Match Week 1.
31st May - For Match Week 2 we played Cobham B. This week we played a lot better and we were all over Cobham keeping the ball down their end and taking lots of shots. We scored two goals but one of them the ball went out earlier so only one of them counted, the goal scorer was Jordy Moore. Player of the day this week went to Paulie Arndt for being a creative passer and a really solid defender. The final score was 1-1.

24th May - In our first game of Hagley football we went up against Chch South. We played surprisingly well with teamwork and had pretty good communication but we did unfortunately lose. The final score was 0-8 to Chch South but we put up a good fight, especially Ryan Loader who won player of the day.
31st May - In the second game of our season we did even better than our last game. We had great accuracy on passes and good communication. By the end of the first half we had done very well. The score was only 1-0 to the best Heaton team. However, as the second half started we started to lose focus a bit, which led to Heaton scoring 6 more goals in the second half making the final score 0-7. Every player played well but Ryan Eddie got player of the day for great defence.

24th May - We played Chch South C. Our team could have used some improvements, although we did play quite well, given that this was our first game together. Our player of the day was Kayden. The score was 0-8 but not in our favour, so yeah a bit to improve on!
31st of May - We played Heaton. We played a lot better this game. The score was 0-7 to Heaton but on the bright side we had the ball down their end way more often than last game. Our player of the day was Cody, he played well as a striker in the first half. Our passes were a lot better than last game and they were actually getting to our players.

24th May. We played the Heaton Hornets. We worked hard as a team and there were some stand out players that had a great game. Max C, Mitchell, and Charlie in particular. But everyone still played amazing. We were proud to come up with the win 5-1 in our first game.

On the 24th of May our team had a bye.
The 31st of May we went against the football team from Villa Maria College Year 7 & 8’s. Due to this being our first game we did lose 3-0 but they also did play very well. The player of the day was Maddie McDonald due to her amazing effort as a goalie in the first half and a striker in the second.
