On Monday 10th May, the Room 2 Inquiry group headed to 0800 Hungry in Ferrymead as part of our "Pay It Forward" initiative.
0800 Hungry is a non profit organisation that provide food parcels for those who are in need. Food is donated from various companies and supermarkets, and are then packed into boxes to be collected.
Our afternoon shift consisted of packing the small food parcels - this meant working in our teams to collect the crackers, noodles, soups, coffee, toilet paper etc from the shelves and packing them into the boxes. We ended up packing over 40 parcels!
We had a great afternoon, and it felt really good to help those in need and to "pay it forward".
