The Inquiry topic for Academic Term 1 was ‘Relationships’ so Room 13 decided to make some connections with the lovely people at Summerset.
Three weeks ago Room 13 decided to go to Summerset Retirement Village to meet some lovely people and forge some new relationships.
They enjoyed it so much that they went again a week ago and are planning to go in the future for the third time.
We went and interviewed two students from Room 13, their names are Nicola McLachlan and Aidan Sandys and here is what they had to say:
What did you do there?
"We asked them all sorts of questions that came to mind and about their daily life at Summerset.”
How long were you there for?
"The first time we went there was for about one hour and the second time was for about thirty minutes."
How did you feel when you went to SummerSet?
They said they felt interested in what the elderly had to say and learned a lot as the folk at Summerset had a lot to say about their personal lives and had very interesting stories and life experiences to share.
Would you go there again?
“Yes, we are planning on going there for a third time sometime soon.”
