Subsidised internet to families with children who do not have access to the internet in their homes.
Spark Jump is a very affordable pre-pay service, the minimum cost is $10 for a 30GB package that expires each month. Spark Jump uses the Skinny mobile platform, so there are no wires to connect, nor are there any set-up charges.
A particular advantage of Spark Jump, especially for families with limited financial resources, is that there's no term contract nor any credit check required; families simply purchase a $10 top-up voucher when they need more data.
If you are a family that does not have access to an affordable internet service in their homes, you can make contact with one of the two current providers:
1. Linwood Library in the Eastgate Mall is offering Spark Jump classes every Monday from 10am to 12 noon (ring 03 941 7923 to book in for a class)
2. Addington.net on the first floor at 1 Penbury Street, Sydenham, offers classes at a variety of different times and days (Contact Greg Smith or Lynda Sawyers on 03 962 7244 for more details)
